This week saw the unveiling / official launch of the SOZO Lymphoedema assesment machine at Whakatāne Hospital.

This essential lymphoedema assessment machine has been funded by the women who contributed to the 2023 Eastern Bay Womens Impact Fund and the Rotary Clubs of Whakatane and Kawerau.  This machine will make a tangible difference to people in our community, who experience swelling post surgery and with certain medical conditions.  Providing this resource was a good example of community collaboration with many like minded people working together to provide this essential medical equipment ensuring availablility for patients in the Eastern Bay, without the nessecity for travel to Tauranga for assesment and treatment.

The Eastern Bay Womens Impact Fund is a collective giving circle of local women, committed to enabling transformative change, particulalrly for women and children in the Eastern Bay of Plenty region.

In 2023 the Fund committed $21,500 towards the installation of a SOZO Lymphoedema treatment machine and $21,500 towards the building of an ablution block at EBOP Riding for the Disabled.

In 2022 this Fund assisted Plunket Eastern Bay of Plenty by financially supporting a pilot programme called Connecting Mothers' assisting to alleviate postnatal mental health, supporting mums, their babies and families in our rural communities.
