Michael Howe has recently been appointed to the newly created role of Engagement Manager. He is the person who will be active in the community, working alongside individuals, charitable groups and business to realise their opportunities with the Eastern Bay Community Foundation.
Mike was born and raised into the well known and respected Howe whanau in Opotiki, where he was nurtured by his grandparents, well known identities, Gloria and Jack Howe. He went on to have a successful few years as a professional rugby player in the UK, eventually starting his own sports management company, managing rugby players into club rugby.
Mike is married to his Scottish bride Karen and together they have two adult sons, Jack and Ben- both of whom have taken on their fathers passion for baking sourdough bread. Karen will be joining Mike in the Eastern Bay later this year.
Mike is warmly welcomed to the team with his energy and ideas to increase the engagement of the Foundation across the Eastern Bay of Plenty. Mike is available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week or by arrangement.
