Viv was appointed to the Eastern Bay Community Foundation in late 2018. She is currently the Convenor of the Policy Committee.

Viv is a trained primary school teacher, and works part time assisting children with learning difficulties at Awakeri School, however her first priority has been, until very recently the operation of the family dairy farm in the Awakeri district. The farm succession plan has now delivered the challenges forwards to her eldest son in the day to day management of the business, freeing up some time for Viv to enjoy being a grandmother and being more involved in the off-farm activities she enjoys. Viv is the mother of three adult children and one very new  grandchild. Viv also operates a farmstay with spectacular vista's across the Rangitaikei Plains, encompassing Mount Putauaki, Maungawhakamana and Mount Tarawera. 

Viv brings with her a wealth of community involvement from Playcentre facilitation & Kindergarten committee work through to volunteering as a member of the Edgecumbe Development and Improvement Team (EDIT). Viv has served on the REAP Board of Trustees and the Trident High School Board of Trustees, each for 6 year terms. Viv has been actively involved with the management of the Awakeri Events Centre and served as a Community Board Member for Rangitaiki Plains until 2014.

Viv is a very community focused person, who has a proven track record in supporting those in need across all sectors of the community.

In any spare time Viv has, she enjoys golf, gardening, reading and travelling to destinations off the beaten trail.
